Besides “KA6simplified,” which serves as our ‘operating system,’ KA6 has several proprietary products that have helped nonprofits, and for profits that work with nonprofits, become more effective:
“One Day Development Audit”
KA6simplified offers what we call our ‘one day audit.’ In one morning, spent with senior staff and key board members, we can do a review of your board, fund raising and marketing programs and provide recommendations for improvement on the short-term, and steps needed to make long-term systemic change. In fact, after we do our one day audit you will receive initial recommendations in your inbox that evening. Then from the audit we work with you to understand issues needing attention and creating a plan to address those issues. Many nonprofits hire us just to do the one day audit and then they take it from there themselves.
“What’s your USP?”
For profits have a Unique Sales Position-the thing that separates them from their competition and makes them different. Under Armour, for example, is about performance…you see it in their advertising, in their products, in the way they present themselves to the public. When you think winning championships, you think Under Armour because they present themselves as different, as unique, in providing what you need to be a champion too.
We think nonprofits need the same thing. So we have developed a system for creating the unique positioning for you that we call the unique service position that gives your messaging focus and provides the simple way of describing services and operations for donors, constituents and the general public that help separate you from the pack. After the USP exercise you will have most of what you need to market your nonprofit and you will begin to unify the way your nonprofit is described by staff, board, volunteers and constituents.
“Got It, Need It, Can’t Do It”
A major component of “KA6simplified” is the unique exercise of developing what you’ve got, what you need and what you can’t do that can guide your development and make you more effective to constituents, donors and the public. GNC also helps you understand where you are the most effective (and where you aren’t) so that you can continue to strengthen effectiveness and not bother with some things you don’t do very well.
“Three Hour Intensive”
In this single, three hour intensive workshop, designed for board and staff involvement, KA6 will help you create a simple game plan for immediate improvement and long-term development. Using its simple “20 questions” system when you and your team are done with the this training you will have almost all you need to become an effective, cutting edge nonprofit.
“Core Business Area Action Plans”
KA6 believes that most nonprofits would benefit from less ‘strategic planning’ and more ‘action planning.’ Using its CBA system KA6 helps you create a simple, “follow-able,” and effective action plan that will be all you need to operate in a meaningful, efficient way. “KA6simplified” stresses less long documents and more pointed, specific action plans to guide your operation.
“The for-profit Scorecard”
KA6 knows that every company in the world is asked to support charities and nonprofit events etc. Using KA6’s ‘for profit scorecard’ system, we work with for profits to understand exactly how effective a nonprofit is and help them decide which charities to work with and which to avoid. Originally developed by Kurt Aschermann for the National Football League some twenty years ago, this simple question and answer format scorecard helps companies choose nonprofit partners that ‘get it’ and can deliver.
“Strategic philanthropy for everyone”
Nonprofits are beginning to discover they have value to brands and companies are beginning to recognize how philanthropy can be part of their business strategy. KA6 works with nonprofits to develop what they can bring to the corporate world and for profits to develop effective philanthropic strategies that benefit their business. KA6 also can work with both to develop a partnership cause program.
KA6 simplified training
KA6 can facilitate training in any of the Big Six areas via workshops, single sessions, extensive multi-meeting programs… the “KA6simplified’ system extends to KA6’s training program allowing you to develop those areas where training is needed and working with KA6 creating meaningful ways to deliver that training. This training can be for groups or individuals. Kurt Aschermann has extensive experience providing mentoring/individual training for nonprofit executives and staff.
